What is an Artifact?

Merriam Webster's online dictionary defines an artifact as

a : something created by humans usually for a practical purpose; or an object remaining from a particular period

b : something characteristic of or resulting from a particular human institution, period, trend, or individual

For the purposes of e-portfolio's, artifacts should represent something from your past.  Either proof of a skill, milestone or an accomplishment.
